MA Fine Art
Fine Art prepares students to succeed as artists and to transfer skills to diverse professional contexts such as working as practising artists, in curating, in arts management, in art criticism and in socially engaged practices. Alumni include artists Chris Alton, Benedict Drew, Serena Korda, Director of Towner Art Gallery Joe Hill, Observer art critic Laura Cumming, and Deputy Director of Focal Point Gallery, Hayley Dixon. Fine Art at Middlesex welcomes the subject as an open discipline, and gives the opportunity to explore many specialisms, diverse fields of research and to exhibit in London. Professional practice is a key, live element of the course and introduces students to a network of contemporary practices, galleries and cultural contexts. Fine Art is taught by practising artists who are involved in research and exhibit their work globally, working across a diverse range of media such as painting, video, photography, sculpture, sound art, writing and more.
