MA Printmaking
This is the last year of MA Printmaking before it becomes a pathway in MA Fine Art. The new pathway will preserve the approach to print as a workshop process and practice. The methods explored are relief printing (wood cut, linocut, wood engraving), silkscreen, lithography and etching. The work is established by individual research and direction in studio practice. This is supported by regular tutorials, peer group seminars and group activities such as exhibitions or project workshops. We have applicants from graphics, fine art, fashion and other design subjects, and we look for a strong engagement with print. Our graduates have progressed to become edition printmakers, artist printmakers, designers using print as their major method of production, and writers on print and visual culture. Other graduates are working in education, community arts and access print workshops.
