BA Theatre Design and Production
Theatre Arts at Middlesex had a long tradition of shaping the theatre industry through our practice-led teaching of theatre as a dynamic and collaborative art. Our students develop a broad portfolio of skills to emerge as innovative practitioners, collectives and artists capable of reimagining how theatre can be made and seen.
Students on the Design programme explore a range of scenographic practices including, set design, lighting, costume, sound, video and stage management, alongside more experimental practices such as VR and digital design. Studio work is closely integrated with industry knowledge and production skills, equipping our graduates with the skills and confidence to enter the creative industries as thoughtful, creative and adaptable practitioners. BA Theatre Directing and Production Our Directing pathway places focus on the practices and aesthetics of theatre directing with particular emphasis on the director as collaborator with the performer and designer. The pathway is taught in close integration with the other Theatre Arts pathways, leading to a wide range of collaborative, student-led project work in our cutting-edge theatre facilities or with external partners and venues.
