Blending Boundaries

Blending Boundaries is a landscape and urban planning project focusing on revitalizing the unused riverfront area located in Ochanomizu, Tokyo, Japan. I have designed the minimal pedestrians crossing the vegetation area beside Kanda River which has the extreme topography from GL ±0 to GL+20m. Visitors of the site could access from several entrances to reach to the riverfront square as the new boat terminal for commuting. The overall is to aim for getting back the life close to the water.

The Journey of Third Culture Kids in the Search of Home

The dissertation focuses on Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and how space could shape their sense of home. Unlike most people, TCKs experiences several cultures which shape their personality, thoughts, and sense in a more globalized way. “Where is home?” is one of the question that TCKS could hardly answer since they would either have “many” or “none”. In this research, the meaning of home is specified into four phases as TCKs grew up searching for the meaning of home.
