BA Fine Art prepares students to succeed as artists and transfer skills to diverse professional contexts such as curating, arts management, art criticism and socially engaged practices. Alumni include artists Chris Alton, Benedict Drew, Serena Korda, Director of Towner Art Gallery Joe Hill, Observer art critic Laura Cumming, and Deputy Director of Focal Point Gallery, Hayley Dixon. Fine Art at Middlesex welcomes the subject as an open discipline, and gives the opportunity to join specialisms in BA Fine Art, BA Fine Art Social Practice, BA Fine Art Multimedia Practice, BA Fine Art Critical Practice. Professional practice is a key and live element of the course, introducing students to a network of contemporary practices, galleries and cultural contexts. Fine Art is taught by practising artists who are involved in research and exhibit their work globally, working across a diverse range of media such as painting, video, photography, and more.
